The Emperor is a bold cigar shaped premium brass metal fountain pen which carries a decent weight offering a very well balanced writing experience. Built like a tank, it is sure to last several years as a sustainable solution opposed to disposable pens. The Emperor is equipped with the in-house manufactured signature smooth nibs from Kanwrite with an exceptional range of 7 steel nib options.
The Emperor offers a fixed piston type filling system with twist mechanism accommodating 1 ml capacity of ink. An additional ink cartridge of 2ml capacity is also provided. Both Converter and refillable cartridge are included with this fountain pen.
You also get to choose the type of feeder material between Ebonite & Plastic types. We recommend Ebonite feeder for higher ink flow/wetness and ABS Plastic feeder for regular flow. ABS Plastic feeder for Finer points and moderate flow.

Ah, I got my Kanwrite Emperor with an ebonite feeder in an extra fine nib last week, and after writing a handful of pages, I can confidently say that it writes like a charm. I am new to this hobby, and although I have been writing only with fountain pens for the last five years, my experience has been limited to Pilot’s. Pilot’s ‘fine’ is too fine, so, since I needed an equivalent from an Indian brand, so I went with an extra fine for Emperor. It is smooth, with just enough feedback to tell you what is happening. I wrote for nearly three hours, and there were no missing lines, no dryness or ink flow issues. It is not a very dry writer, unlike Pilot Kakuno, but not too wet either – just perfect. Here is a list of pros and cons from a short-term user:
Pros:
1. Writes like a charm. Just enough wetness in the nib, smooth gliding over pages, and continuous ink flow from the feeder. Just the right amount of feedback.
2. The rosewood colour is elegant. It gives the appearance that it is made of wood, but actually, the barrel and the cap are entirely made of metal. The grip is of plastic.
3. Ebonite feeder at no extra cost. This is an unexpected and welcome deal for me.
4. Plethora of customisability on the Kanwrite website! The nib finish, nib type and feeder.
5. It is a heavy pen. This is both a positive and a negative, depending on your hand size and preference. I have moderately big hands and I prefer a bit heavy pen, particularly made of metals. The name really suits the product.
6. Well balanced.
7. Comes with a reusable cartridge and a converter.
Cons:
1. It is a heavy pen. If you have small hands, this probably is not the best choice for you. Unless you are habituated to using heavyweight pens, this may not be suitable for a long writing session.
2. Its finish could have been better. The tip of the nib does not align precisely with the middle of the feeder tip. This needs to be improved, but it might be the fault of the particular piece I received.
3. The converter included looks nice, but I have a feeling that it might not survive the test of time since it feels brittle. It’s hard plastic, not a soft one. I would have liked if they provided an option to choose a metal converter. It would have increased the pen’s weight, but that would have been fine with me.
This comes in a nice gift box. In this price range if you prefer a full metal pen on the heavier side, this is an excellent buy!
Caution: Two words on the use of the cartridge. The blue capped side (the thicker side) goes towards the feeder, not the other side. That is the reason the opposite side is sealed. This might be confusing for the first-time users since both ends are screwed.

This is my first Kanwrite – Emperor Rosewood – Broad, gold nib. Online transaction, packaging, delivery, schedule – excellent. Pen looks like a Cuban cigar. Gold trims. Hope the lustre lasts.
Writing – Good converter. I use fructal blue ink – very smooth. Does not blotch. No delayed start. Curves in letters and numbers well inked. An overall wonderful experience. I thank Shri Sandeep Awasthiji for his personal attention to details in the order and for sharing more info about the pen over phone. I think I will add Kanwrite to my collection…

My “Emperor Rosewood” looks very nice, a little darker than in the photos. It looks classy at first glance and has a very pleasant weight. However, the gold-plated rings in the middle of the fountain pen are already peeling off. The Ultraflex nib scratches extremely badly and really cuts the paper. After polishing the nib for an hour, it writes a little more smoothly, but it’s still scratchy. I’ll have to keep polishing.

Kanwrite Emperor is a piece of Art ! This is one of the best pens I have ever owned, wonderful writing instrument. I got one with Ultra-flex nib and it just glides on the paper, out of the box ink flow, wet writer. It is not like usual pen that you find under 1000 range, It will tell you itself that I am an emperor. A must buy for every fountain pen enthusiast.

I am writing to give some feedback on my experience with this purchase and the pen itself. The purchase was intuitive and I had no problems paying online. The parcel was sent quickly and arrived after about 10 days. My pen is an Emperor Rosewood with Dual Tone, Ultra Flex nib and Ebonite nib-feeder. The nib and feeder are excellent. It flexes by itself as you write and gives you very nice line variations. With this combination, there is no need to separate strokes for thin and thick lines, just keep writing. The pen is heavy (as you would expect from a metal pen), the finish is good and it looks very nice. The cap is a little too tight and sometimes it is not easy to open the pen quickly. If I open the pen and keep writing it is fine, but in a meeting while taking notes, opening and closing the pen frequently… sometimes it is not easy.

Happy with the choice of pen. This is a beautiful looking Rosewood pen with an Ultraflex nib and Ebonite feed. Can never ask for something better. Kanwrite pens are amazing. Since i collect a lot of pens, i see to it that each one is unique in my collection. This one is indeed very unique choice of pen. I have been using Kanwrite Emperor for a year. I have purchased Rosewood Color, and it’s look very good, the polishing, feel and weight is perfect. The Kanwrite EF nib is smooth and has good feedback, the ebonite feed keep the flow steady and wet. I have Sailor Tuzu in EF nib by comparing both nibs i can surely say the kanwrite Nib is far better, more feedback and smooth, and has a little springy effect. The convertor is good and with one fill you can easily write 32 to 38 A4 pages which is plus point for me. overall, I am satisfied with my Kanwrite Emperor.

Fantastic Pen Value for money. The converter and cartridge both are usefull both holding good amount of ink. Quality of the Pen is Also fantastic. In this price Tag I could definitely say this is the pen you can go for . I also like its ebonite feed, ebonite feed can be heat set ,if careful we can deepen the ink channel in feed hence increasing the flow. The best thing about this pen is with Ebonite feed you have converter and cartridge while most pens comes in ebonite nibs in Eyedropper and piston filler form. Beautifull Pen if khanwrite is launching such wonderful pens then I would only go for Khanwrite because of practicality, practical high quality converter which holds lots of ink and an extra cartridge that can store ink and has an cap which can be screwed backside of cartridge when using in pen hence the cap is never lost,its genius. I would definitely suggest this pen to many people,its a must pen for any collectors or writers and for students whom like pens with little bit weight.
